At
Legacy Wealth Management, we believe in helping you achieve your
overall wealth potential, not just a portion of it. The following is
a comprehensive list of services that experience has shown to be valuable
in helping clients reach their financial objectives.
Phase
One - Creating the Plan
I.
Overall Objectives
We
will meet with you to discuss your present needs and outline your long-term
goals. Topics included in our discussion will be educational funding,
retirement options, investment review, investment strategy, insurance
needs, and estate planning.
II.
Financial Statement
To
ensure that we are working with the most current data, we will list your
assets, as well as the progress you have made thus far toward reaching
your financial goals. We will determine your current net worth and list
all ownership designations for clarity. The financial statement serves
as the foundation for all other work we perform for clients.
Defining
objectives and compiling a financial statement are steps that are completed
with every client, the other areas, listed below, are performed on an
as-needed basis.
III.
Educational Analysis
To
ensure that adequate resources are available for educational needs, we
will determine future educational costs for primary, secondary, college
and/ or post-graduate based on today's costs plus inflation. Several options
such as depositing a lump sum, saving monthly, or paying as you go will
be included. Additionally we will offer commonly used strategies (Educational
IRA, UGMA, UTMA, etc) if appropriate. Tables outlining total education
cost of each option listed above will be included.
IV.
Retirement Analysis and Retirement Sensitivity Analysis
In
order to maintain your same standard of living throughout your retirement
years, a thorough review of current expenses, retirement assets, investment
assets, and social security benefits should be completed. After a financial
review is complete and goals are set, projections will be run using several
scenarios (variety of returns on investments, inflation rates, and spending
patterns). Additionally, we will calculate the probability of outliving
your wealth. Graphs and tables are used to display growth and longevity
of assets, including expenses.
V.
Investment Analysis
The
objective is to reiterate your purpose(s) for your investment portfolio
(retirement income, leave an inheritance, provide current income for heirs,
emergency liquidity, etc.). We will review your existing investment holdings
both independently and as a consolidated portfolio. We will produce historical
results of each mutual fund or common stock, compare these results to
the best possible alternatives, and reassess the allocation to meet your
objectives.
VI.
Risk Management Assessment
We
will review the specifications of policies on your current insurance coverage
in the following areas and make recommendations accordingly.
- Life
Insurance
- Property
and Casualty Insurance
- Disability
Insurance
VII.
Estate Analysis
In order to be certain that your estate plan is tax efficient and meets
your objectives, a thorough review is necessary. In the event that the
plan is not meeting your objectives, appropriate changes will be suggested.
If there is no current estate plan, LWM will outline one so that the wealth
you have accumulated is distributed as you wish through Living Trusts,
Life-Insurance Trusts, Charitable Trusts, etc.
Phase
II - Portfolio Development
I.
Risk Tolerance
Using
a series of questions, we will determine a level of risk that appears
to be appropriate for your accounts. Knowing your risk tolerance helps
us select investment vehicles that will best support your long-term objectives.
II.
Asset Allocation
After
determining your risk tolerance and time horizon, we will design a portfolio
allocated to help you reach your goals and dreams. The funds will be divided
among various asset classes such as, US Large Company Equity, US Small
Company Equity, US Real Estate, International Large and Small Company
Equities, Emerging Markets, Cash, and several others. It is our job to
help you reach your targeted goals while minimizing risk as much as possible.
III.
Investment Recommendations
Within
each asset class, we will recommend particular funds that we have studied
and believe to be well suited to meet your needs. We continue to stay
informed about and in touch with fund managers to ensure that they are
staying true to their fund's particular philosophy. Tables and graphs
supporting our recommendations will be included. Finally, we will develop
an implementation plan for acquiring the investments for your portfolio.
Phase
III - Ongoing Wealth Management
Understanding
your vision, we will use our investment experience and expertise, to take
on the responsibility of overseeing your assets. Your account will be
reviewed on a consistent basis to ensure that your portfolio is on track
toward achieving your goals. We will periodically discuss your objectives
to recommend any necessary changes.
The portfolio review process involves monitoring performance, understanding
tax considerations, and reviewing internal expenses and management changes
of funds to ensure the purity of the portfolio. From time to time the
relative allocation of the account will change due to fluctuation in the
market, and we will make the necessary modifications to bring it back
in balance.
Additionally,
your on-going support includes:
- Quarterly
Statement of Account
- Quarterly
Commentary of the Market
- Periodic
Telephone Conversations, as needed
- An
annual face-to-face meeting, or more if necessary
Depending
upon the level of service you choose, Legacy, Gold, or Preferred, we will
